When the lift truck won't start

Ever had one of those days when you hop in the lift truck and it just won’t crank — last week, mine decided to play dead right before a storm hit, and I could almost hear the poles laughing at me… At least I got an excuse to swap out my coffee for a few choice words.

, I’ve been there! Just last winter, mine refused to start with a storm rolling in, too. I ended up jumping the battery with my pickup, but now I always keep a portable charger handy for these moments.

We’ve all had that moment when the lift truck’s being a diva. I once resorted to tapping on the ignition panel because I thought it’d give a bit of motivation — surprisingly, it worked! Just don’t make it a habit; those panels can be finicky — @LinemanJoe, you ever try that trick?

Sounds like your lift truck pulled a classic; i once swore mine had a sixth sense for stormy weather — wouldn’t start unless I threatened it with a long coffee break. @chloe62, maybe we just need to sweet-talk our machines a bit more.
