Troubleshooting transformer issues in the field

I’ve been running into some intermittent issues with transformers lately, specifically related to overheating during peak loads. I’ve been using a thermal camera to check for hot spots, but I’d love to hear how others approach diagnosing these problems on-site. Any particular tools or techniques you swear by when things go sideways?

When dealing with overheating transformers, I’ve found that checking the load balance can often reveal underlying issues. Sometimes, it’s just a matter of redistributing the load more evenly across phases. Have you tried that with your setup, or are you strictly monitoring temps with the thermal camera?
