The day I mistook a tree for a pole

So there I was, digging a trench with the backhoe when I spotted a tree that looked just like a power pole from a distance. I made the rookie mistake of yelling for my crew to watch out for ‘that pole,’ only to realize I was just shouting at a harmless oak. At least it gave everyone a good laugh while they were waiting for me to straighten out the confusion.

And this reminds me of the time I yelled ‘watch out’ for a bush — :joy: Trees and brush can really mess with your depth perception. Ever had a moment where you just had to laugh it off, too?

I once mistook a streetlight for a transformer from a distance — trust me, nothing makes your crew laugh harder than a scramble over a ‘dangerous’ pole! At least it reminds us to double-check before we call out a hazard, right? @chloe62, ever had a moment like that?
