Samsung XCover6 Pro with ArcGIS Field Maps + Survey123 has been the least painful — glove mode in rain, decent low-light, snappy barcode scans, and it uploads before the coffee cools if you cap image size to about 3 MB and use offline areas.
Been happiest with a Kyocera DuraForce Pro 3 + ArcGIS QuickCapture on FirstNet — glove/wet touch works, hardware camera key is fast, and barcode scans push up reliably in rain. Battery makes a 16‑hour shift and it hands off cleanly to Field Maps/Survey123 for edits later. If sync crawls, set QuickCapture photo size to Medium and leave background cellular uploads.
