Recommendations for transformer banking course

I’m an apprentice lining up my continuing ed hours this month and want a course that really drills transformer banking and phasing with field examples, not just slides. If you’ve done an online class that walks through open-delta checks and vector math and ties it to safe setup — cover, grounds, and proper phasing stick use — I’d love the provider name so I can knock out 8–10 hours after our 7–3 shift.

But > I’d love the provider name so I can knock out 8–10 hours after our 7–3 shift… T&D PowerSkills’ Transformer Connections/Phasing module nails open-delta checks with yard footage and safety tie-ins; I kept my phasing stick manual out and sketched the vectors before each quiz and it clicked fast. Math depth is a bit light, but you can wrap it after a shift: https://www.tdpowerskills.com.

I did my last CE with NLC Online’s “Transformer Connections & Phasing” and it checks your boxes — real pole videos for open-delta verification, vector math tied to cover/grounds and proper phasing stick context, and it runs about 8 hours: https://lineman.edu/online. If you want an alternative to @lgreen85’s pick, this is solid; only caveat is the quiz leans heavy on the math, so bring a notepad (and maybe coffee).

Took TPC Training’s online “Transformers” for 8 hours and it covered the vector math with solid safety tie-ins, plus some decent real-world clips: Industrial Maintenance Training - TPC Training My go-to tip: before paralleling, sketch a quick phasor on the pole tag and say “call it before you clip it” — keeps the brain ahead of the hands. Caveat: a few demos are bench-top, but it translated fine in the alley.
